Tampa Fla (12/22/08) – The LeverEdge – a 29 year old distributor and manufacturer of Solar Thermal heating products recently installed a commercial 25kw Photovoltaic Solar Electric on their massive 80,000 sqft operations center. Ben Bently – Founder - and operations manager – Troy Millar concluded after researching installation contractors that Tom Harriman of Harrimans Inc. – Solar Energy systems was the best fit – due to his extensive background as both an electric and solar contractor.
According to Harriman this project presented unique challenges due to the shear size and height of the industrial structure. The installation consisted of (144) Solar World 175 watt Sun Module installed roof top with site specific standing seam non penetrating solar module mounting hardware. The Photovoltaic DC output of the array flowed to four SMA 6000 DC & AC inverters which injected utility grade power back into one of three switch gear assemblies.
Excess power produced by the “PV” system will be sold back to TECO-Tampa electrical company per the recently enacted Stat of Florida net metering law and utility interconnect agreement.
